Arceuthobium (dwarf mistletoes), a well-defined but morphologically reduced genus of the family Viscaceae, is parasitic on Pinaceae in the Old and New Worlds. In this taxonomic revision, the 46 recognized taxa comprise 42 species - 4 with 2 subspecies each, and 1 with 2 formal specialties. In addition to systematic and descriptive information for each species, we review ecological relationships, biotic associations, physiology, anatomy, pathogenic effects, and methods of control for the Arceuthobium. Color pictures, distribution maps, and a list of specimens examined are provided.

</ul> The Medicine Bow National Forest began with the establishment of the Medicine Bow Forest Reserve by President Theodore Roosevelt on May 22, 1902. The Forest is now managed according to the principles of Ecosystem Management, which blends the public need for natural resources with the maintenance of ecosystem health and stability. The Forest is ideal for short hiking trips and many backcountry roads and trails offer excellent mountain biking experiences. The Forest is open to hunting in accordance with state laws and regulations. Big game on the Forest includes elk, mule deer, pronghorn antelope, bighorn sheep, and black bear. Many different species of trout are present on the Forest and a variety of fishing experiences are available in the Snowy Range area. There are also many developed campgrounds that accommodate tents and small camper trailers.

The facility is managed jointly with the Roosevelt National Forest and the Pawnee National Grassland from the United States Forest Service office in Fort Collins, Colorado. The combined facility of 1.5 million acres (6,000 km²) is denoted as ARP by the Forest Service. The forest is located in the Rocky Mountains, straddling the continental divide in the Front Range west of Denver. It is was established on July 1, 1908 by President Theodore Roosevelt and named for the Arapaho tribe of Native Americans who previously inhabited the Colorado Eastern Plains. The forest includes part of the high Rockies and river valleys in the upper watershed of the Colorado River and South Platte River.\nThe Roosevelt National Forest was named in honor of Theodore Roosevelt, the person most responsible for creating the National Forest System as we know it today. Originally part of Medicine Bow Forest Reserve established in 1897, this public land became the Colorado National Forest in 1910. President Herbert Hoover renamed it Roosevelt National Forest in 1932. Today, the Roosevelt is administered jointly as part of the 1.3-million acre Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests. Topography on the Roosevelt National Forest varies from rolling foothills to snow covered peaks, to deep scenic canyons.

Located in South Central New Mexico, the Lincoln National Forest is known as the birthplace of the world-famous Smokey Bear, the living symbol of the campaign to prevent forest fires. The original bear is buried in Capitan, New Mexico. The Lincoln consists of three ranger districts; Sacramento, Smokey Bear, and Guadalupe. There are three major mountain ranges; Sacramento, Guadalupe, and Capitan that cover 1,103,441 acres in parts of four counties in southeastern New Mexico.
