They are brilliantly put together, and if followed, not only reduce disagreement among scholars to a virtual non-issue, but provide an approach to Scripture that honors it for what it is. His second section is a List of every knowable date in the Bible. This is an invaluable reference guide and is the core of the results of his years of research. The third section is a guided tour through the undergirding of the numerics woven throughout the Chronology. While he could have written volumes on the subject, he limits himself to clear examples that have specific impact. It is a pleasure, as well as wonderfully instructional, to read someone who does not hesitate to tackle the toughest of "contradictions", and who can take problems that have puzzled scholars for years and demonstrate Scripture's perfect harmony

This is Ivan Panin’s classic Greek Critical Text of the New Testament, published in 1934. It is a masterpiece of textual criticism, believed by Panin to represent the original autographs of the Greek. His discovery in 1890 of the complex system of Numerics underlying the text, and subsequent 40 years of research produced a powerful system by which to the text ‘self-checks’. When doubt is introduced as to the veracity of a passage, it can be resolved by appealing to the multitude of numeric patterns which progress throughout every word, passage, and indeed, in through the scope of the entire New Testament. From small details to issues such as the validity of the last twelve verses of Mark’s Gospel, Bible Numerics has been demonstrated to shine a clear light on the proper reading. When this work was published in 1934, it departed from the popular Westcott & Hort text in some surprising ways (though most often supporting their findings), and in the interim, scholarship has inched closer and closer to what Panin painstakingly transcribed. It might be mentioned that Panin is one of the few competent scholars of Textual Criticism who believed every word of the Bible to be “God-breathed”. Whether for general use or a scholarly masterpiece, this Greek edition of the New Testament is unique and refreshingly well-researched.

The New Darby Version combines one of the best translations made in the English language (1881) with the ease of modern speaking. The distinctions made between using you (plural) and thou (singular) are still there; the pronouns are marked for you. In fact, nothing has been changed except vocabulary words; the New Darby Version is as precisely like his original as possible. John Nelson Darby's translation combines a breathtakingly accurate rendition combined with easy readability and beauty; it is a copy that you will find yourself reaching for again and again. Suitable for study, leisure reading, or public forums, this edition is neither a scan nor a copy; it is a word-for-word transcription and the result of years of work. The purist who loves JND's archaic version can flip to the Appendix and find a list of every single word that has been changed. The only thing this edition lacks (stay tuned though) is Darby's footnotes; however it does have the most complete collection of his Bible introductions ever published in English.    To present as comfortable a read as possible, this has been divided into two volumes. The Old Testament is in nicely sized 11-point type, and the New Testament volume has a generous 12-point type. There is a one-volume edition also available here, both in regular (smallish) print and large print.    Darby's translated directly from the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek without depending on a 'critical text' (a particular work presenting the best possible combination of variant readings) in a day when this demanded actually going and visiting each manuscript where it was being held. His Greek prowess was legendary, and there are many passages in the New Testament where the sense given in his translation is still head and shoulders above the rest . . .even after 130 years. Reluctant to displace the King James Version in his day, he held back from publishing the Bible in English until near the end of his life.    This translation comes very highly recommended by those who read as a daily habit and require a translation that both conveys the beauty of scripture and the precision of meaning.

This is probably the most comprehensive book on Ivan Panin’s numberics available. Starting with his work, the authors range through a broad range of aspects of the field, with many a pleasant surprise for the reader. Much of this material is brand new; the bulk of it is not only a thorough examination of Ivan Panin’s studies, but well-considered investigation as to where it can lead. Here you will meet up with the meanings of numbers, gematria, primes, how mathematical expressions are to be treated, and well-considered inroads into the world of geometry, both two and three dimensional. There are side-by-side comparisons between Panin's Greek text and both Westcott &amp; Hort’s (of his day) and Nestlé-Aland’s (of ours). The classic writings of Panin are all here, as well as many obscure samples. More than 350 pages of exploration, liberally illustrated, await the reader. It is evident that the writers were exploring their subject even as the book was being put together. As each subject is addressed, they continually arrive at the conclusion that more investigation is wanting and welcome. There are no grand doctrinal points being made or axes set up for grinding here; there is simply page after page of fascinating phenomena vying for attention. Despite the title, the authors appear to have taken the ‘proving’ aspect of numerics for granted and moved on to exploring. All in all, this is a most refreshing read.
