The role of money-lenders in history was once aptly termed by many acute observers as the "Hidden Hand." It is the power to create, lend and accumulate interest on "credit," and then re-lend that interest for further interest, in perpetuity, that creates pervasive, worldwide debt, from the individual, to the family, to the entire state. The ability to operate a fraudulent credit and loan system has long been known, and through all the slickness of a snake-oil salesman, the money-lenders - the same types Jesus whipped from the Temple - have persuaded governments that banking is best left to private interests. Many wars, revolutions, depressions, recessions, and other social upheavals, have been directly related to the determination of these money-lenders to retain and extend their power and profits. When any state, individual or idea has threatened their scam they have often responded with wars and revolutions. The cultural and material progress of a civilization will often relate to the degree by which it is free from the influence of debt, and the degradation that results when the money-lenders are permitted to regain power. Hence, Goodson shows that both World Wars, the Napoleonic wars, the American Revolution, the rise and fall of Julius Caesar, the overthrow of Gaddafi in Libya and the revolution against Tsar Nicholas, among much else relate to this "Hidden Hand" in history. This is the key to understanding the past, present and future.

The aim of this freedom was to bestow the opportunities that would again see the flowering of cultural achievement and appreciation, not just among 'privileged' sectors of society, but among all who are capable of allowing their souls to soar above a merely produce-and-consume existence. The Soul of Man Under Socialism redefines the purpose of human life beyond the crass materialism of both capitalism and orthodox socialism. Given the ever-increasing hours all sectors of society are working, regardless of improvements in technology, Wilde's message of freedom from economic burdens is even more timely.</p>

After World War Two, 'fascist' became the F word of political debate to be applied liberally against anyone who left-wing polemicists disliked. But what did it really mean and what did its British supporters really stand for? In this pre-War book written in convenient Question and Answer form by Oswald Mosley, the Leader of the British Union of Fascists challenges the simplistic nature of the stereotypical image. It acknowledges that if he had been elected to power political party warfare would have been brought to an end. Instead of voting for different party labels General Elections would be based on an occupational franchise. Under this system everybody would vote according to their vocation: miners voting for a choice of mining candidates; farm workers for agricultural candidates; health workers for doctors and nurses; and textile workers for textile worker candidates. There would even have been occupational candidates for housewives and pensioners. In this way, Mosley believed that a government of experts elected by experts would be created: a body far better equipped to provide good government than one based on a multi-party geographical franchise. Other questions and answers covered by Mosley in equal depth include freedom of speech; reform of the banking system; and the roles of trade unions in the modern workplace. Fascism may have lost the war of semantics but its true nature deserves closer scrutiny.

Today, the word 'fascism' has become synonymous with political thuggery and persecution. It wasn't always so. Back in the 1930s tens of thousands of ordinary British people joined the British Union of Fascists because they believed that it alone could solve the problems of widespread hunger, slum housing and the threat of world war. The publication of The Alternative not only marked the inauguration of Union Movement, Oswald Mosley’s post-War political party, but the launch of his master concept of ‘Europe a Nation’ that remained the enduring theme of the rest of his life.Mosley’s vision of a United Europe stretching from the Urals to the Atlantic, had little in common with the present European Union, essentially, Mosley wanted Europe to speak with one voice on what mattered – defence, foreign affairs and economic policy – whilst leaving all other matters to national governments. He concludes the book with his greatest contribution to philosophy in which he interprets the meaning of life expressed in his Doctrine of Higher Forms. Oswald Mosley considered The Alternative to be the magnum opus of his writings. It was also his message to posterity, and one that provides a philosophical basis for future generations of Europeans.

Oswald Mosley was the first post-War figure to propose the political union of Europe. As far back as 1947 he had advocated 'Europe a Nation' and by the publication of this book in 1958 the first tentative steps had been made towards a European Economic Community (EEC). Mosley's concept involved a common policy for defence, foreign affairs and economic policy that left all other issues to regional governments to decide in accord with local custom and tradition. It was also firmly based on making Europe, and Europe Overseas, a completely self-sufficient power bloc containing all its own raw materials, energy sources, food production, manufacturing capacity and consumer market. In 'Europe: Faith and Plan' Mosley explains that this would allow a United Europe to withdraw from global markets where the exploitation of cheap Third World labour was undercutting home-based production. This pernicious process was already destroying major European industries promising mass unemployment in the future. Even by the time this book was published it was clear that the Europe being created by old-party politicians and bureaucrats of the EEC was not Mosley's Europe. They saw it as a step towards even greater exposure to global trade in which finance capitalism would be all-powerful. In 'Europe: Faith and Plan' Mosley shows how the economic and financial chaos he predicted could be avoided. The book remains an invaluable guide for the reconstruction of European economies in the 21st. century.

The publication of the first edition of 'The Greater Britain' coincided with the formation of the British Union of Fascists by Oswald Mosley in 1932. It provided hope and inspiration for tens of thousands of British men and women seeking an end to the Great Depression - and an alternative to communism and capitalism. In this important book Mosley set out his plans for a new economic order - and a new system of government to implement it. This would involve Britain's withdrawal from the chaos of world markets into a self-sufficient trading area based on Great Britain and her Empire. It was argued that this alone could free the people from exploitation by International Finance which used cheap labour in Asia and the Far East to undercut British and Empire workers - resulting in the destruction of our major industries. The book also outlines an alternative to 'sham democracy' and its replacement by a British Corporate State. Under this proposal all working people would share the profits they helped to create and they would be empowered by voting along vocational rather than 19th. Century geographic lines. Other chapters deal with 'The State and the Citizen', a new concept of public service, and 'Fascism and its Neighbours', the new movement's attitude towards foreign relations and defence. Any understanding of what the Modern Movement really stood for in Great Britain is incomplete without having read 'The Greater Britain'.
