The Migratory Legends: A Proposed List of Types with a Systematic Catalogue of the Norwegian Variants

These migratory legends, most of them on religious themes, are divided into 8 categories, the biggest of which tell of fairies, of witches and witchcraft, of ghosts and revenants, of spirits of rivers, lakes and the sea. In addition to summaries of the contents there is a type index containing references to printed sources and the manuscript collection and catalogues of the Norwegian Folklore Institute in Oslo.
