The exhibition ‘blank-Architecture. Apartheid and after’ was a travelling exhibition. It was produced by the Netherlands Architecture Institute (NAi) in 1998-99. This exhibition presented the results of the research of the history of South-African architecture and urban planning and development during and after the Apartheid. The research was done by the South African philosopher and architect Hilton Judin in cooperation with a team of sixty architects, photographers, filmmakers, and writers. The exhibition was part of the Rotterdam manifestation ‘South African Seasons’ on culture, architecture, and urban development. The manifestation was closed by a conference on architecture and ethics. Then the exhibition took place in the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin and in Museum Africa in Johannesburg from July till December 2000.
