Achieving QTS, Teaching Humanities in Primary Schools

This course book has been written for British trainee and recently qualified primary teachers to improve their knowledge and understanding of teaching humanities and is organized around the requirements of the new Standards for the award of Qualified Teacher Status. Each chapter provides examples from humanities subjects to demonstrate a variety of strategies and ideas, and considers the new topics included in the National Curriculum such as key skills, citizenship, and cross-curricular teaching. Each chapter includes practical tasks to highlight important concepts and links to relevant research.
