Cecil (California State University) compiles 100 classroom activities for practicing teachers and education students in field-based literacy courses. The book is organized into sections on topics such as early literacy, phonics, and working with parents. Each activity features a suggested grade level, a defined purpose, a list of materials and step-by-step directions, and an assessment tool to guide in determining the effectiveness of instruction.
