Blake to Beardsley: The Artist as Illustrator

This is the third in a series of exhibitions documenting the Rosenbach s Museum & Library permanent collection of drawings. While some of the drawings have been shown at the Rosenbach & from time to time at other institutions & a few have attracted scholarly attention, the documentation presented by Dr. Rorschach in this catalogue contributes greatly to our appreciation of the works. Of special interest is the information she has provided on the provenance of the drawings. While Philip Rosenbach was the art collector, his brother Dr. A.S.W. Rosenbach, the great rare book dealer & collector, built this collection of drawings, many of which were designed as book illustrations. Illustrations.
