Eighteenth-Century French Book Illustration: Drawings by Fragonard and Gravelot from the Rosenbach Museum and Library

Visitors to the Rosenbach Museum & Library in Phila. are amazed at the wealth of rare books, manuscripts, & works of art found within the walls of this small townhouse, maintained much as it was when the Rosenbach brothers lived here. Drawings by Fragonard & Gravelot, among other artists such as William Blake & Honore Daumier, decorate the wall of the second floor sitting room. This current exhibition has been organized to permit for the first time a detailed examination of several suites of drawings from the collection by Fragonard & Gravelot.
