The text is designed for and devotes 75 percent of its materials for teachers of the traditional employment discrimination law offering. Issues under recent laws such as the Americans with Disabilities Act and the 1991 amendments to the Civil Rights Act receive comprehensive treatment. Few other books in the field provide the instructor and student with the same opportunity to tackle the "hard" issues in the field, such as the use of statistics in employment discrimination litigations, disparate-impact challenges to subjective selection systems, release and waiver agreements in ADEA, and the like.
