Mathematical Thinking at Grade 4, Investigations in Number, Data and Space, Grade 4

Students use interlocking cubes and play money to show $100 and $1; estimate how many hundreds there are in a box of cubes; play games involving money and hundreds; complete and find patterns on a three-hundreds chart; work on groups of related addition, subtraction, and money problems; make pattern-block patterns with mirror and rotational symmetry; build designs from oral descriptions; and make symmetrical patterns on a Geoboard. Suggested pacing: 19 sessions.
