From the foreword: The concept and practice of management information systems (MIS) have been around for almost twenty years. Despite a few detractors and a slow beginning, the movement has gained momentum and now promises to take its place alongside the great managerial innovations of the century. Indeed, MIS is viewed by many as the mortar that holds together the bricks of the modern management movement.
