It is designed for courses one smeester or one quarter in length and for students who may or may not go on to take further managemetn classes. No previous academic knowledge of the subject is assumed. Its eight parts and twenty-two chapters have been designed to stimulate inquiry and clear thinking about management. Each chapter begins with a list of learning objectives and a chapter outline and ends with a summary. The objectives are inteded to serve as study guidelines for the material being presented, and the outlines provide an overview of major topics. The purpose of each chapter summary is to reinforce material that has been covered.
