In her second book on the knitting of the Shetland Islands, the author not only gives an account of the history of the art, but also describes in detail all the stitch patterns and techniques involved in making a garment, with notes on dressing and stretching, basic construction of shawls and scarves, adapting patterns and obtaining materials.
