About the Author Dr. Roger Allen is an assistant professor and director of research and graduate studies in the Department of Health Education and Coordinator of the Psychophysiological Research and Biofeedback Learning Laboratories at the University of Maryland, College Park. He teaches classes in controlling stress and tension and related topics and now has more than 1100 participants each year in his college-level stress management program. He holds master's and bachelor's degrees from the University of Kansas and a doctorate in biomedical health from the University of Maryland. In addition to this text, he is the author of Investigations in Stress Control (with D.
