<p>Tales from the Norse is a collection of Norse folk tales by British translator George Webbe Dasent. The book contains over 30 folk tales for children. Dasent was born in the British West Indies and was educated at King's College London, and Oxford University. He graduated with a degree in Classical literature and was appointed to a diplomatic post in Stockholm. While stationed in Sweden Dasent became acquainted with the Jakob Grimm and became interested in Scandinavian mythology.</p>
