Vocabulary expansion, a major focus, is promoted by teaching and encouraging use of the foreign student's own bilingual dictionary of the native speaker's English dictionary. A simple step-by-step dictionary lesson is included for that purpose. Present tense and the future, with "going to," are used throughout the reader, as these are generally stressed during the primary levels. This is not a grammar book. The exercises here test reading comprehension and offer plenty of opportunities for writing and discussion, as well.</p>
