Will Cooper is a character based on myself and two friends, both of whom have seen much more danger than I in real life. I am, however, thrilled to say we all share the same maligned sense of humor. In my opinion, Will Cooper is one of those rare individuals worth emulating. He cares about each person he meets, be they friend, enemy, or simply an unexpected acquaintance. Help is given freely while justice and revenge are metered and delivered only after careful deliberation. Treating anyone unjustly is something Will avoids at all cost. Like so many of us, Will Cooper's life was shaped by happenstance. He and his best pal, Harvey, share a unique existence. Both rabidly believe in that existence and respect the danger that comes with it. They are not immune to mistakes, but remain aware that to many mistakes will eventually bring a fatal one. A rescue in the Iraq desert brings on a series of events that cannot be reversed, changing not only Will and Harvey's lives forever, but also the lives of those around them. Will, as always, tries to balance his present and future with the need to do his job well and at the same time remain a decent human being. It is a tightrope walk at the best of times.
