During these sacred moments, he unashamedly bares his heart before God and exposes himself to the unfathomable grace, love and understanding that God is so willing to show him. Suddenly – words that express his heart begin to flow! You will be blessed as you grasp the depth, yet simplicity, of these words. While many of these poems are borne out of William’s own experience, others are written after reflection upon the lives of both biblical characters and people that have cross his path.</p>

<p>Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were spectators of and participated in the miraculous events associated with Jesus Christ's life. They witnessed Jesus interacting with people and wrote about what they saw. Their stories, completed in the 1st Century and known as the Gospels, are eyewitness accounts of Jesus interacting with, ministering to and helping people. Since then, millions of us have read, studied and have been inspired by the four Gospels which bear their names. More than 1,900 years later, I have reversed their storytelling perspective. Envisioning myself in Jesus' time in Bethlehem, Nazareth, Capernaum, Jerusalem, the Garden of Gethsemane, Golgotha or elsewhere, I retell their stories as if Jesus helped me, healed me, saved me and spoke to me. After more than five years of writing, I am excited to announce that “Spectators of Jesus the Christ” is available for you to read the Gospels as you never read the Gospels before. As far as I can ascertain, this 34-chapter book represents a new genre of Bible literature. I portray Jesus' life, teachings and miracles through the fictitious eyes, imagined thoughts, perceived feelings and fictional observations of 26 people featured in the four Gospels. Essentially, I spectate and speculate what happened in the lives of these people by putting myself in their shoes -- or sandals -- and as a writer, tell their stories. Each character (17 men and nine women) are introduced with the three-word “It was I” lead-in. In the first chapter, I lay the foundation for “Spectators of Jesus the Christ,” as I take the reader from Genesis throughout the entire Old Testament and to the New Testament. In this summary, you'll see where Lucifer came from, understand why Satan hates you, and learn about the devil's specific involvement in Bible history. In the next chapters I put myself in the sandals of Joseph, Jesus' father; Mary, Jesus' mother; Elizabeth, Jesus' aunt; and Zechariah, Jesus' uncle. I share the moving story of a fictitious mother, whose baby boy was murdered by King Herod the Great's troops. I relate to John the Baptist, who prepared the way for Jesus. I imagine what the woman was thinking about when she walked to and met Jesus at the well. I speculate what were Simon the Pharisee's real motives for inviting Jesus to his house for dinner. I describe what drove the penitent woman who cried on Jesus' feet with her tears and wiped Jesus' feet with her hair to Simon the Pharisee's house. If I were the Roman centurion, how would I suggest Jesus heal my servant? If I had a bleeding disorder for twelve long years, how would I have suffered? What kind of peer pressure did the Pharisee Jairus, father of the twelve-year-old girl who Jesus resurrected from sleep, experience with his religious colleagues? Putting myself in the adulterous, pleasure-seeking and birthday-partying sandals of King Herod Antipas, I explain and try to justify why I beheaded Jesus' cousin, John the Baptist. Faith, unbelief, persistence, sorrow and innovation -- replete themes throughout this book -- are evident in the next chapters. Disciple Phillip describes how Jesus fed five thousand men, excluding women and children, from just five loaves and two fish. Peter displayed buoyant faith when he walked on water toward Jesus, but his doubt nearly sunk him. The Greek mother's dogged persistence saved her demon-possessed daughter. Martha witnessed Jesus resurrect her brother, Lazarus, and told this miraculous story from her eyes. Blind Bartimaeus heard Jesus was nearby and loudly shouted for the Son of David to receive his sight. This book concludes with Mary Magdalene, who saw her “Rabboni” on resurrection morning, Simon Peter, who did not see his resurrected Lord that morning, and Thomas, who doubted his Lord. At the end of this book you'll read about the complex simplicity of the Holy Trinity. “Spectators of Jesus the Christ” presents God's Word from a unique personalized perspective.</p>
