<p>15 biomedical scientists/educators from Canada, Portugal, South Africa, Taiwan, and the USA author the chapters.  (Please note 12 Authors listed above:  3 additional authors: Kim E. Barrett, Edwin E. Daniel, Delsworth G. Harnish.)  Each shares their journey that has led them to teaching at the university level.  Their insightful observations weave common threads of discovery such as dealing with Problem Based Learning, standardized patients and discovering 'hidden agendas' in curriculum.  The commonality of their progressive interest and involvement in the design of teaching approaches have resulted in significant contributions to education. Their narratives are presented in an honest tone that admits the failures along the journey as well as the successes.  Their hope is that university students in the biomedical disciplines who read this book will catch a glimpse into the possibilities of the rewards of university teaching, and that faculty will be inspired to pursue different methods of teaching.</p>
