During his studies of art and social sciences in Siegen/Germany, the artist, who was born in Bonn in 1966 chose to major in photography instead of painting. At the beginning of his career as part of his study program, Kellner was confronted with the pinhole camera in various projects. After his studies, he created a new, up to then unique visual language. The desire arose within him to distance himself from documentary photography, to reinvent the photographic image and to develop his own unique visual language. Since 1997, Thomas Kellner has concentrated on architecture and interior spaces. In his images, Kellner relinquishes the usual rules of composition, the relationships between proportions and the restrictions of shapes. For the representation of a unifi ed whole, Kellner shoots countless details of a structure, i.e. fragments which he arranges playfully, thereby allowing the building in the image to dance and sway. Similar to the eye of the viewer, his camera moves over the whole structure, takes in individual details and reassembles them." - Agnes Reschka

The French artist Loic Bréard is proud to present his current artistic project. The photographer has dedicated his new project to Egypt. He has explored the country along the Nile over the past ten years on numerous excursions from Alexandria over Cairo down the Nile to the temples at Luxor and Karnak and on tot he small Nubian villages south of Aswan. His black-and-white prints have a vintage look about them. They do not divulge their contemporariness. They are a reflection of history and tradition and reveal the essence and substance of a civilized nation.Using a Leica M6 and black-an-white film Loic Bréard has preserved much oft he photographic mystery. He has a special talent for creating picturesque compositions. Intuitively he captures contours, the play of light and shadows, which give his pictures this artistic not and characteristic visual language, that also align him with historical paragons.

Egypt: In the Mirror of Timelessness (German Edition)

In his group of works World of Speed Johannes Huwe, in his own inimitable style, captures images of the unique world of speed freaks in the Great Salt Lake Desert, in northern Utah. The salt lake El Mirage can be found 16 miles north of Highway 18, where all roads end. This is a deserted and surreal place in the Mojave Desert, with daytime temperatures of 45 degrees. Although seething with rattlesnakes it was still the perfect location for films like Terminator 2 and Lethal Weapon. “Land Speed Racer” is the name given to those daring men in their home-made racing machines. This kind of racing is the last motor sports bastion still in the hands of amateurs. The participants of the races are diverse, ranging from simple car mechanics to millionaires who arrive in the desert with their truck and a whole team. Capturing the event presents a particular challenge to photographer and equipment. Heat and dust take their toll on both. “The world as a picture” interests the artist; the gleaming chrome surfaces of cars, racing in the salt desert, or the aesthetics of New York daily life. His style ranges from documentary accuracy to surreal, constructed scenes. The pictures of ›World of speed‹ were shoot with a medium format Hasselblad camera.

Harris Fogel Thomas Kellners artworks of art are especially known for an intensive interaction of light and color. His works in black and white reflect the beginning of his career as an artist. Kellner's black &amp; white photography does not only refer to his beginning as an Artist, but also to the root of photography. In his early black-and-white images, the observer can see how he focuses on the structure itself. The balance between the object and its visual form are at the center of his creations. Kellner developed his unique visual language of multiple perspectives and the deconstructive approach in a sequence mounted on a contact sheet of 35-mm roll of film.
