A quick read at 160 pages, The Diary of Josiah Webb is set in historic Nappanee, Indiana in 1924. The story is the first person account of the last months of a dying man (Josiah) who is absorbed in an adventure that he can’t share with anyone, not even his best friend Hiram. Unbeknownst to Josiah, Hiram is also involved in a secret adventure of his own.   The Diary of Josiah Webb illustrates the power of the friendship between two men. Though set in a quieter era in a quaint locale, the story is timeless as it shows how all of us affect the lives of others. A few tears are likely to be shed by sensitive readers, but the story transcends gender and appeals to both the male and female audience.
