It is intended for use by the student who has had about six months to one year of musix lessons. It is assumed that the student knows the following: 1. Letter names of the treble clef and bass clef line and space notes. 2. Rhythms in 2/4, 3/4, and 4/4, using note and rest values of eighth, quarter, half, dotted half, and whole. 3. The names of the keys on the piano.

Intended as a supplement to private or group lessons, Basics of Keyboard Theory, Level 1 presents basic theory concepts to the beginning music student. This level is to be used with the student who has had approximately one to two years of music lessons, and knows the following: 1. The Names of the treble and bass clef notes, sharps, flats, and naturals. 2. Rhythms in 2/4, 3/4, and 4/4 time, including values of eighth, quarter, half, dotted half, and whole. 3. The names of the piano keys. 4. Is playing piano literature at the level of the easiest Haydn German Dances, or the easier pieces of Kabalevsky's Opus 39.

BKT1 - Basics of Keyboard Theory - Level 1

Intended as a supplement to private or group lessons, Basics of Keyboard Theory, Level 2 presents basic theory concepts to the advanced beginning music student. This level is to be used with the student who has had approximately two to three years of music lessons, and knows the following: 1. The Names of the treble and bass clef notes, sharps, flats, and naturals. 2. Rhythms in 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 6/8, including values of eighth, quarter, dotted quarter, half, dotted half, and whole notes. 3. The names of the notes on the keyboard. 4. Is playing piano literature at the level of the Anna Magdalena Notebook by J.S. Bach, or the easier pieces from Schumann's Album for the Young.

BKT2 - Basics of Keyboard Theory - Level 2

Intended as a supplement to private or group lessons, Basics of Keyboard Theory, Level 3 presents basic theory concepts to the early intermediate music student. This level is to be used with the student who has had approximately three to four years of music lessons, and is playing piano literature at the level of Clementi's Sonatina, Op. 36, No. 1, or Burgmuller's Arabesque.

BKT3 - Basics of Keyboard Theory - Level 3

Intended as a supplement to private or group lessons, Basics of Keyboard Theory, Level 7 presents basic theory concepts to the early advanced music student. This level is to be used with the student who has had approximately seven to eight years of music lessons, and is playing piano literature at the level of Mozart's Sonata, K.545, or Beethoven's Sonata, Op. 49, No. 2.

BKT7 - Basics of Keyboard Theory - Level 7

Intended as a supplement to private or group lessons, Basics of Keyboard Theory, Level 8 presents basic theory concepts to the advanced music student. This level is to be used with the student who has had approximately eight to nine years of music lessons, and is playing piano literature at the level of Khachaturian's Sonatina, 1959, or Mozart's Variations on Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
