<p>INSPIRED IMAGES PRESENTS...Tyrone Parnell, Metropolitan Detroit's newest author, debuts his self-published book of stimulating poetry this month (May 19, 1995 at the Museum of African American History.) The book, STANDING IN THE DOORWAY OF LIFE, exhibits personal experiences which encompass sentiments from his childhood in Akron, Ohio, along with a variety of professional viewpoints. A University of Dayton graduate & Marketing Manager for the IBM Corporation, he is also a motivational speaker. Mr. Parnell is especially interested in encouraging young people to empower themselves through education & self-belief. Parnell recently experienced a period in his life which he considers "life points" -- a time in which he examined his existence both introspectively & retrospectively. After that inspiring assessment, he launched his own publishing company, Inspired Images. His goal is to provide a vehicle which will enable him to share these moving works with others who have experienced similar personal journeys. Such thought provoking poems as "Dignity of a Man", "Truth", "Wait", & "The Understanding of Un", explore a variety of emotions shared by many individuals who have passed through similar doorways.
