Liberated Texts is dedicated to reviewing works of ongoing relevance that have been forgotten, underappreciated, suppressed or misinterpreted in the cultural mainstream since their release. This inaugural collection brings together all twenty-one review essays published on the Liberated Texts website in 2021, accompanied by an introduction written by its Founding Editor, Louis Allday.

Translated into English for the first time after its publication in 1967, Ghassan Kanafani's On Zionist Literature makes an incisive analysis of the body of literary fiction written in support of the Zionist colonization of Palestine. 
Interweaving his literary criticism of works by George Eliot, Arthur Koestler, and many others with a historical materialist narrative, Kanafani identifies the political intent and ideology of Zionist literature, demonstrating how the myths used to justify the Zionist-imperialist domination of Palestine first emerged and were repeatedly propagated in popular literary works in order to generate support for Zionism and shape the Western public's understanding of it. 
The new preface by Anni Kanafani and an introduction by Steven Salaita place On Zionist Literature in its broader historical context and make a compelling case for its ongoing significance more than five decades since its original publication, illustrating the extent to which "Kanafani was a searing and incisive critic, at once generous in his understanding of emotion and form and unsparing in his assessment of politics and myth."

Éric Zemmour is an apparent contradiction - widely viewed as a dissident racist, he's a Jewish Algerian Berber whose family comes from North Africa. Even more transgressive for the French political establishment, he views himself as the legitimate heir of Charles de Gaulle - the sanctified World War II resistance leader and founder of the Fifth Republic. But a look at de Gaulle's political history, particularly his policy towards French Algeria in the years from 1958-1962 and his declaration that he "would like there to be more French babies and fewer immigrants," reveal the extent of Zemmour's affinities with de Gaulle.\nZemmour's candidacy for the 2022 French presidential election is based on the white supremacist idea that Christian France is disappearing and being replaced. The culprit, according to Zemmour, is mass immigration, an explicit "great replacement" of the native French population. Yet his admiration for de Gaulle reveals that Zemmour is no deviation from the traditions of the Fifth Republic but its culmination.
