This book contains some 200 images of paintings created by Buffalo, NY, expressionist artist Edward G. Bisone. It follows a limited collector's edition published in April 2011 (and no longer available).Bisone's work reflects the influence of artists such as Marcel Duchamp and Jean-Michel Basquiat. He has exhibited internationally.

Don Scheller is a poet, teacher, and visual artist, who makes his home in Buffalo, NY.  The images and poems included in this volume were created independently of each other, over the course of 40 years.  Scheller's sometimes dark, always thought-provoking, black & white photographs visually reinforce the introspective message in each of his poems, including his long forms and his "almost Haiku" short pieces.  His deep sensitivity and wry humor are apparent throughout.  The book contains 99 photographs.  The material is presented with alternating image and poem, in seven chapters:  1.  "Along the Way" portrays a vivid picture of the artist's youthful memories and lessons learned.  2.  "Faithful Delusion" reflects Scheller's deep, somewhat cynical, grasp of how people fool themselves with unadulterated trust in authority.  3.  "Critically Creating" delivers some delightful insights on the creative process and experience.  4.  "Relating...Sometimes Loving" is at once a reflection of the artist's empathic observations of relationships, including, perhaps, a look into Scheller's own heart.  5.  In "Memories & Loss Thereof" Scheller displays a sensitivity and affection for those close to him, especially his mother, who suffered from Alzheimer's.  6.  "Caffeinated Views".  Scheller spends his quiet time at coffee shops, observing, thinking, and writing.  7.  "Short Pieces (...almost Haiku)".  In recent years, the artist has shown a preference for the short verse.  He favors the Japanese Haiku form, but willfully deviates from strict adherence to the standard Haiku.  Don Scheller's work will make you think, smile, and cry. This richly-illustrated book is a success story of inspiration and hope that carried Buffalo-born Robert Traynham Coles, the African American son of a postal worker, through a 50-year career as an architect. When a high school teacher sought to discourage him, telling him there were no opportunities for Negroes in architecture, Coles became determined to prove him wrong. His native ability and perseverance propelled him through a master’s degree from M.I.T. to opening his own firm in 1963 and leading to senior positions in the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the AIA College of Fellows. Coles battled racial discrimination throughout his career, leading him to commit to “an architecture of social conscience” and making his profession “look more like the society it has to serve.” His efforts won Coles numerous awards, including the AIA’s Whitney M. Young, Jr. Citation for service to the profession. He was the first AIA Vice-President for Minority Affairs, a founding member of the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA), and the first African American Chancellor of the AIA’s College of Fellows. Coles’ continual goal was to create more humane, inspiring urban spaces. His buildings ranged from small, residential structures to major, public, developments. Some, including his home, placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011, and his master’s thesis, the John F. Kennedy Recreation Center in Buffalo, have been described as gems of mid-century modern architecture. Other commissions ranged from transportation complexes, to schools, to municipal administration buildings. Coles’ book, written in collaboration with historian friend William Siener and based on articles about his career, personal recollections and extensive records of his firm, documents his architectural legacy. A correspondingly important purpose is to continue his campaign to inspire more young minorities and women to follow a career in architecture.

Carol Townsend's first chapbook presents 24 poems chronicling her life growing up on her father's farm in downstate New York in the 1950s and 60s. Raised on a small family dairy farm in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains whose one hundred-fifty acres she roamed as a child, her poetry evokes poignant images of farm life. Her family’s rural delivery address was Happy Avenue, Swan Lake, always an embarrassing revelation; nevertheless, indicative of heart-warming relationships and memories, especially of her father.
