The Baloch Conflict with Iran and Pakistan: Aspects of a National Liberation Struggle

Balochistan, the land of the Baloch is a huge land mass stretching from Southeastern Iran to the east bank of River Sindh in Punjab, and from lower reaches of Helmand in Afghanistan to the Indian Ocean. In 1839, the British occupied Balochistan and later it was divided into various parts and half of it was given to Persia. In the wake of the British withdrawal from India in 1947, Eastern Balochistan was annexed by Pakistan in 1948. Since then the Baloch have been confronting the religious states of Pakistan and Iran in order to regain their lost sovereignty. The book is the account of this violent and protracted conflict. This book answers some of the pertinent questions regarding historical contexts of Persian and Pakistani state nationalism, evolution of Baloch national struggle, the tale of atrocities and the international perspective regarding the conflict.

This book is an autobiographical account of how a six-year-old girl was diagnosed with terminal cancer and how her father coped with the shock and trauma of it all. The illness, the death, and the fathomless depths of anguish that followed are not sidestepped in this volume, but are described as accurately as author Fred G. Womack was capable of doing. As the great trial got underway, Womack had a good idea of what he might expect of people in the face of the challenges before them. But in all honesty, he did not know what he might expect of God. Of course, he knew that God had done some extraordinary things for people in the Bible who found themselves in various predicaments. All the same, he had no assurance that God would provide any comparable help to his daughter and family in their painful plight. At this time, Fred Womack's Christianity was much like that of a hypothesis that had never been tested. Be that as it may, early in the illness it became clear that the worst thing that had ever happened to his family would be the occasion for spiritual revelations that would amaze and enthrall himself and his ill daughter to the degree that they would ameliorate the anguish being felt-and occasionally fully compensate the emotional suffering that was so devastating. After the daughter's death, God continued to bring to the father's attention many inexplicable spiritual manifestations, all of which correlated in some way with the spiritual happenings that took place during his daughter's illness.

My favorite poets are Langston Hughes and Helen Stiener Rice. I consider my style a unique hybrid of the two. She looked for the beauty in nature and life. He searched for the truth in people and circumstances. They both encouraged their readers that life is worth living. My poems are a unique hybrid of what I call a realistic faith in Jesus Christ. My work doesn't overlook the problems, but I try to remind myself and my readers that God, through Jesus Christ, is greater than any problems that we have. He is not only the Savior who loved me too much to let me go to hell, both literally and symbolically, He's the only way to heaven literally. But you have to commit your life to Him to receive His power to do His will and experience life in its fullness. It's my faith and hope that whether you know Jesus Christ or not, these poems will draw you to seek a closer relationship with Him. And I know if you're sincere, you will find Him. Without Him, you're lost, not God.
