Adventures in Anglotopia: The Makings of an Anglophile

What makes an Anglophile? What makes someone love a country not their own? Adventures in Anglotopia is a journey to answer this question, framed through a childhood exposed to British culture and then nearly twenty years of travel in Britain. It's an exploration of why one American man loves Britain so much but also why Britain is such a wonderful place, worthy of loving unconditionally. The narrative arc of the book answers this question by covering interesting topics related to Britain such as visiting for the first time, culture, stately home, tea, history, British TV, litearature, specific places, and much more. Each chapter focuses on a specific topic, all building to the end where Jonathan reveals his 'Great British Dream.' Come on a journey that will take you the length and breadth of Britain and its rich history.

Anglophile Vignettes: Fifty Little Stories About Britain

Covid-19 has paused the travel plans of Anglophiles all over the world. We find ourselves cut off from the place we love the most - Britain - its culture, its history, and its landscape. But we can still go there in our minds. Out of this deep well of longing for Britain, the Anglophile Vignettes were born. This book is a series of vignettes about people, things, and places in Britain. Some are very short; some are quite a bit longer. Some of them were originally published on Anglotopia.net.; the rest were written specifically for this special little book, and you can't read them anywhere else. Each little scene or story is like a meditation on something lovely about Britain. Almost like prayers - the prayers that we're all having, hoping that we can all return to the country we love so much as soon as possible. It's still going to be a while. So, I want you to have this collection of memories, stories, and experiences to help take you there in your mind until you can go in person again.
