Description:
The aim of this book is to help students and others identify the terrestrial vascular plants on the small island of Motupore in Bootless Bay, Central Province, on the south coast of Papua New Guinea. We hope it will encourage further botanical and ecological studies on the island. Since the plants on Motupore are found elsewhere in the surroundings of Port Moresby, the book may be of some use as a general guide to the local flora. However, the flora of Motupore is much less diverse than that of similar vegetation types on the mainland, and a number of common trees are absent from the island.
