In Towards Truth and Wisdom, Ajahn Sumano Bhikkhu, American-born Buddhist monk, speaks and answers questions directed to him by spiritual seekers from all over the world. The heartfelt questions of these "city" people and the clear, refreshing, and penetrating answers Sumano gave from his "forest" perspective form the basis of this remarkable book. Although the nature of the questions varies, there is one constant theme shining through. Author: Ajahn Sumano Bhikkhu, born in Chicago, studied law and developed an entrepreneurial business before letting everything go and embarking on a spiritual journey more than thirty years ago. It eventually led him to a Buddhist monastery in England and to Wat Nong Pah pong in Warin Chumrahp near Ubonrachathani Province, Thailand, the seat of one of his teachers, the late Ajahn Chaa. For the past 19 years, Ajahn Sumano Bhikkhu has lived in solitude and serenity at his Double- Eyed Cave Retreat in the Khoao Yai mountains northeast of Bangkok.[br][br]His previous books includes Questions from the City, Answer from the forest; Meeting the Monkey Halfway; The Brightened mind; and numerous translations of dharma talks by the great Thai Thudong Buddhist masters, Ajahn Chaa, Ajahn Tate and Ajahn Poot.
