God and Children

Fr. Ortega is easily recognized as one of those few writers who can give exceptional value to the human side of life and yet never lose sight of the vital importance of grace. In this book he write particularly for parents. He deals with the vocations of parents and their difficult job of bringing up their children to be men, Christians and saint. Everything he says is impregnated with the strong idea that life is only really worthwhile, really happy, if one tries to do things for love of God. In these chapters Fr. Ortega draws heavily on his own rich experience as a teacher and spiritual director. To his subject he brings much doctrine, much humor and enormous common sense.
