Rubaiyat e Khayyam (Urdu Edition)

Rubaiyaat e Khayyam is a beautifully illustrated coffee table book which comprises on the Urdu and English translation of Rubaiyaat by the great Persian poet Omar Khayyam. Great poetry it is indeed, simple quatrains where East seems to meet West in a conjoining of Eastern mysticism and poetry and nineteenth century Western language and expression. The original author, Omar, son of Abraham, the tent-maker, wrote the lines around AD 1200. Then, in the 19th century, a noble educated at Cambridge and later a student of Persian-Edward Fitzgerald- found one of the only manuscripts left of the Rubaiyat, and fell in love with it. This Book Rubaiyat e Khayyam is the Urdu translation of the Rubaiyat, which is beautifully published with the illustrations. This edition is eminently useful, an exemplary textual presentation. Any fan of the Rubaiyat should want access to this collection. It is attractive as some of the other editions, and also certainly the most comprehensive.
