A history of the Hebrew language

Gives the background of Hebrew as a Semitic language, its vowels, consonants, roots, morphology, and syntax. There are chapters on Biblical Hebrew, Mishnaic Hebrew, the Hebrew of the Dead Sea Scrolls, Mishnaic Hebrew, and modern Israeli Hebrew. The latter includes the influences from Arabic, Yiddish and European languages. It is thus a complete history of the Hebrew language from its beginning until today.
