Punic Antiquities of Malta and Other Ancient Artefacts Held in Ecclesiastical and Private Collections (Ancient Near Eastern Studies Supplement)
Description:
The large collections of antiquities reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the island of Malta have largely remained unpublished until now. This large volume provides a good introduction to the process of cultural change in Maltese history, as well as discussing the background to antiquarian collecting and their collections. Although much of the material is of Punic date, the 303 page illustrated catalogue includes a range of figurines and miscellaneous objects from eight major collections, although for the most part the catalogue comprises ceramic material. A companion to Segona's The Archaeology of Punic Malta (Peeters 2002).
