Description:
Text in book is in English. The art of lithography, or stone printing, is an old and glorious tradition that artists like Goya, Vonnard, Toulouse-Lautrec and not least Picasso have utilised and developed. It is about 20 years since Per Kirkeby made his first lithograph, a poster for Aarhus Art Museum at the lithographic workshop of Hostrup-Pedersen in Copenhagen. Since then the workshop has kept up this traditional way of printing, and the collaboration with Kirkeby has also continued. This book illuminates the lithograph as an important form of artistic expression in Per Kirkeby's work. It includes an introduction by Mikael Wivel, text by Synne Rifbjerg and over 100 full colour plates.
