Cuando Enrique Barrios vio que su obra Ami, el niño de las estrellas, tal vez por el titulo, o quizas por la portada infantil, atraia a los mas pequeños, quienes luego se encontraban con la desagradable sorpresa de poder comprender solo en parte esa obra -porque Ami no es un libro totalmente infantil-, el autor se sintio en deuda con los mas pequeños y anhelo poder alguna vez escribir algo para ellos. Este libro procura dejar en el alma de los niños el mismo ideal que nutre toda la produccion literaria de Enrique Barrios, esto es, un mundo en paz, solidaridad y amor. / When Enrique Barrios realized that his work ""Ami, the child of the stars"", attracted the youngest, perhaps because of the title, or perhaps because of the childish cover, the little readers found out unpleasantly surprised that Ami is not an all-children book. The author was indebted to the smaller and ever longed to write something for them. One day, just as suddenly as the inspiration came for Ami, Ami and Perlita arrived. This book seeks to make in the soul of children the same ideal that nurtures the whole literary production of Barrios, that is: a world at peace, solidarity and love.
