Men on a fishing boat see a body floating in the waters of Grand Canary Island. The local police discover it belongs to a Swedish woman named Erika Bergman. Diego Quintana is put in charge of the investigation and he gets help from Sara Moberg, an editor of a Scandinavian newspaper on the island and Kristian Wede, a former cop and new employee of the consulate. The more the three look for answers, the more questions they come up with. They begin to suspect Erika's friends are hiding something. When a second body is found, the mystery deepens. The island's beach might look idyllic, but its reality is much more brutal and dark than Diego, Sara, and Kristian could have imagined.
