The Cathedral in Old Dongola and Its Antecedents (Nubia I, Dongola 2)

The following work constitutes as far as possible a complete description and summary of architectural investigations carried out on the site of Church of Granite Columns in Old Dongola. The topic was undertaken and presented in the form of a detailed monograph, thanks to the activities of the Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology in Cairo, under the direction of the late Professor Kazimierz Michalowski, who carried out archaeological investigations on the area of the former capital of the United Kingdom of Nubia since 1964.
