The Norwegian ancient costume tradition has not been relegated to the museums - it is kept alive throughout the country. More and more Norwegians own a folk costume, or intend to do so, and a great deal of work is going on in the fields of research and reconstruction of old costumes. And as a result of all this activity, a number of costumes based on ancient traditions have made the appearance in recent years.
