About the Author Taslima Nasrin has been writing both poetry and prose for close to 20 years. After the publication her novel Lajja (Shame) in 1993, she was forced to leave Bangladesh and seek refuge in Europe, where she continues to live. She was awarded the Ananda Puraskar in India in 1992 and 2000.
