My girlhood: An autobiography
Description:
Product Description Bangledeshi writer Taslima Nasrin's first major work in exile, My Girlhood is a sensitive retelling of her growing up as part of an extended family in Bangaledesh and erstwhile East Pakistan. Nasrin's writing, as she herself, remains rooted in her native land, springing from the very soil and air of Bangledesh, and it is this knowledge of her rootedness, perhaps, that impels her to look back to the first 13-14 years of her life in Mymensingh. About the Author Taslima Nasrin has been writing both poetry and prose for close to 20 years. After the publication her novel Lajja (Shame) in 1993, she was forced to leave Bangladesh and seek refuge in Europe, where she continues to live. She was awarded the Ananda Puraskar in India in 1992 and 2000.
