The book entitled, Operating Systems covers all the fundamental principles of operating system in great detail, including processes, deadlocks, and memory, paging algorithms, disk scheduling and protection. It will enable the students not only to learn the principles but also use it in practice. The book consists of thirteen chapters. The first chapter is an introduction of the operating system. The eleventh chapter deals with the issue of protection and security. The twelfth chapter is a case study of Windows NT and the last chapter is a case study of LINUX.
