Social Movements, Old and New: A Post-Modernist Critique

The central theme of this book is the study of social movements in India, situating movements in society and in the discipline of sociology. It looks at the movements of modernity and postmodernity in particular and how the odd and mutually anomalous combination of these compose the historical-specific representation of contemporary Indian society.
