Japanese in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands

Over the last decade or so, the Andaman islands have emerged as a major tourist destination in India. Not suprising, as it is one of the most beautiful places in the country. Most visitors to the islands never find out about the three years of Japanese occupation during World War II. Yet, these three years were even harsher than the British penal regime that lasted nearly a century. This book tells the important story of the Japanese occupation.
