The author Mr. Nan Huaijin is a scholar with reputation both at home and abroad. He was born in a scholarly family in Zhejiang Province in 1918. After the Anti-Japanese War broke out, the young Nan Huaijin renounced the pen and joined the army. Later he returned to Sichuan Province and taught at the Central Military Academy and University of Nanking. He had very deep reserach on all the fractions of Tibetan Buddhism and used to be reclusive in Daping Temple of Mount Emei for three years to read the voluminous ""Tripitaka"".
