Iurii Liubimov, the director of the Moscow theater "Taganka", was a cultural legend of 1960s-1980s. This theater was extremely popular with the intelligentsia and became a center of an artistic Fronde and theatrical innovations. This book is his memoir about his eighty years of life, but primarily about his first roles, creating his legendary theater, exile and return to Russia, difficult years, and the split of Taganka.
