Kenichi Higuchi: Nendo Ghost Shadows

Nendo, the design office established by Oki Sato, produces furniture, installations and other objects distinguished by their light construction and minimal, seemingly ethereal nature. At times functional, sculptural, or simply decorative and abstract, the startling white to crisp black forms resonate with the power of simple geometry combined with tactile precision and execution. Photographer Kenichi Higuchi here captures a fascinating array of objects made by nendo in different settings and site installations, from museum galleries, where they are juxtaposed with art historical contexts, to the workshop floor, permitting glimpses of the creative process.
