Nudibranchs and Sea Snails: Indo-Pacific Field Guide
Description:
Nudibranchs & Sea Snails
Indo-Pacific Field Guide
by Helmut Debilius
1998, IKAN Publishing Frankfort Germany, 2nd edition, hardcover with stitched binding, about 5½ by 9 inches (about 14 by 22 cm), 321 pages, full color photographs of more than 1000 marine molluscs in their native environment.
This is a beautifully illustrated photo guide book that contains over 1000 full color photographs of marine molluscs. from the Indo-Pacific region. As is the case with the other guides done by this author the photographs are phenomenal.
The shell-less molluscs make up the greater part of the book but there is also a section of about 120 pages of photos and descriptions of those molluscs that have shells and probably the ones that you are most familiar with. Even though these shells are familiar it is still quite an experience to see the living animals through Debelius' camera lens. It helps reinforce the idea that there is a lot more to the shells than the shell itself. This is an excellent book and one that is in brand new condition. It is also not an easy book to obtain.
