Description:

This book is a supplement to our 1997 book on Bruno Martinazzi, Jewellery 1958-1997 . The occasion for this new publication was a lecture given by the artist in Munich in 2005, which impressively demonstrated his profound knowledge of art in context with humanist, philosophical, historic and religious values. In addition to the 2005 Martinazzi lecture, the main essay by Ellen Maurer Zilioli introduces the artist's work as an aesthetic whole. Following up all clues, sources and suggestions made by Martinazzi, she links his work with its contemporary context as well as the ancient, religious and mythological origins of his subject matter and its transformation into a modern language of forms. Thus the book opens up new horizons for the reception of international auteur jewellery and relates it to other fields of design. The most important stages of Martinazzi's career to the present day are vividly presented as exemplified by an impressive selection of object photographs. Text in English and German
