Bernd & Hilla Becher Framework Houses /anglais
Description:
MIT Press, Cambridge, 2000. 384 pp., 350 duotone illustrations, 8½x9½". The influence of this husband and wife team has been deeply felt in the international photography world for the past several decades, both directly as a result of their own pioneering work, which is a blend of topographical documentation and conceptual art, and indirectly through their students, most notably Thomas Struth and Andreas Gursky. Framework Houses, their first book, was published in 1977 and quickly went out of print. Finally available again, MIT Press has done a superb job of reproducing this subtle and foundational work.
