His oils of hills, bald trees, barren snowmelts, shadyforest glades and sunspots capture the magnificently desolate and forlorn landscapes of Central Switzerland and are considered a precursor to the realisticpaintings of Franz Gertsch and Gerhard Richter. Over 160 of his artworks arerepresented, many for the first time, with insightful and historical essays byPatricia Bieder, Monika Brunner, Christian Klemm, Domink Muller, Heinz Stahlhutand Peter Suter.
